Analyst, Condition Based Monitoring

Are you passionate about analyzing data and enjoy conducting root cause assessments? Reporting to the lead, reliability engineering, you will work closely with the maintenance group to provide condition based monitoring (CBM), mechanical engineering and equipment reliability support for our base plant haul truck and grader fleets.


  • Conduct CBM and data analysis using health monitoring real-time applications and create notifications for maintenance execution
  • Conduct event driven and predictive maintenance (PdM) analysis
  • Liaise with maintenance planning and execution to optimize maintenance scheduling for haul trucks and graders
  • Support or lead health monitoring projects while working closely with the PdM team and vendors to optimize programs
  • Collaborate with maintenance and reliability engineers on event and trend analysis and conduct and/or support equipment failure investigation and root cause assessment
  • Analyze maintenance history and track component hours
  • Manage, assess and action fleet oil analysis program
  • Employ equipment health monitoring tools to develop CBM alarm thresholds, trends, establish technical operating envelopes and work with equipment vendors as required
  • Develop equipment strategies and preventive maintenance programs for our haul truck and grader fleets
  • Track and report on CBM data and key performance indicators, and assess business case/savings achieved by the program

Required Qualifications

 
  • Five or more years of experience in condition based/ health monitoring for mobile mining or heavy equipment or similar relevant industry
  • Experience and deep understanding of oil analysis
  • Experience in real-time health monitoring system application usage such as Minecare
  • Mechanical or electrical engineering degree, or a Heavy Equipment Technician Journeyman certificate
  • Registered or immediately eligible for registration with the association of professional engineers and geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) as a professional engineer, if applicable
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record  

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; working knowledge of SAP
  • Exhibit a strong safety mindset and display a creative and continuous improvement approach to your work
  • Well-developed critical thinking, with an ability to apply logic and challenge assumptions
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make decisions with integrity in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter that collaborate with others and build positive relationships across different teams in our organization

Working Conditions

  • This position has been identified as safety sensitive
  • The shift schedule is a seven days on/ seven days off rotation
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory
  • Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible candidates
